COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

The present application relates to a communication method and apparatus. A terminal device determines channel state information according to S indexes of S vectors, each of the S vectors being comprised in a first vector quantization dictionary; the first vector quantization dictionary comprising N1 vectors; both N1 and S being positive integers; the terminal device sends the channel state information to a network device. The dimension of the vectors comprised in the vector quantization dictionary is generally relatively large; therefore, quantizing the channel information using the first vector quantization dictionary is equivalent to expanding the dimension or maintaining a higher dimension for the channel information as much as possible, so that high-precision feedback can be achieved by means of lower signaling overhead.
