description The present invention relates to a synthetic-silica catalyst used in a heterogeneous catalysis method for the effective conversion of residual glycerin resulting from the production of biodiesel into formic acid with high selectivity and stability, in a continuous-flow reaction. It should be noted that products with high added value are formed with the mere presence of an oxidizing agent, including without a catalyst. In this case, the conversion of the residual glycerin occurs by homogeneous catalysis, by the action of the components left over from the synthesis of the biodiesel, with the formation of major components, such as formic acid, cyclic ethers and diglycerol, in continuous-flow and reflux reactions. The reaction can also be brought about by adding sodium salts to the process of homogeneous catalytic conversion of the commercial glycerin. The process developed in the present invention reuses the residual glycerin without the need for purification before its transformation into products of high added value and renewable origin, enhancing the usefulness and potential of the invention.

O processo desenvolvido nesta invenção valoriza a glicerina residual, sem a necessidade de purificação antes de sua transformação em produtos de alto valor agregado, mas de origem renovável, agregando mais interesse e potencialidade à invenção.</description><language>eng ; fre ; por</language><subject>ACYCLIC OR CARBOCYCLIC COMPOUNDS ; CHEMICAL OR PHYSICAL PROCESSES, e.g. CATALYSIS OR COLLOIDCHEMISTRY ; CHEMISTRY ; METALLURGY ; ORGANIC CHEMISTRY ; PERFORMING OPERATIONS ; PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL PROCESSES OR APPARATUS IN GENERAL ; THEIR RELEVANT APPARATUS ; TRANSPORTING</subject><creationdate>2022</creationdate><oa>free_for_read</oa><woscitedreferencessubscribed>false</woscitedreferencessubscribed></display><links><openurl>$$Topenurl_article</openurl><openurlfulltext>$$Topenurlfull_article</openurlfulltext><thumbnail>$$Tsyndetics_thumb_exl</thumbnail><linktohtml>$$Uhttps://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/biblio?FT=D&amp;date=20220630&amp;DB=EPODOC&amp;CC=WO&amp;NR=2022133560A1$$EHTML$$P50$$Gepo$$Hfree_for_read</linktohtml><link.rule.ids>230,308,776,881,25542,76289</link.rule.ids><linktorsrc>$$Uhttps://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/biblio?FT=D&amp;date=20220630&amp;DB=EPODOC&amp;CC=WO&amp;NR=2022133560A1$$EView_record_in_European_Patent_Office$$FView_record_in_$$GEuropean_Patent_Office$$Hfree_for_read</linktorsrc></links><search><creatorcontrib>MOURA BREDER, Samuel</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>LARA SANGIORGE, Daniel</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>RANGEL BASTOS, Alexander</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>DE FIGUEIREDO PORTILHO, Marcio</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>DE CASTRO OLIVEIRA, Cíntia</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>CHAGAS, Poliane</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>PACHELI HEITMANN RODRIGUES, Ana</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>ALVES DE OLIVEIRA, Luiz Carlos</creatorcontrib><title>METHOD FOR CATALYTIC CONVERSION OF GLYCERIN INTO PRODUCTS OF HIGH ADDED VALUE, AND USE</title><description>The present invention relates to a synthetic-silica catalyst used in a heterogeneous catalysis method for the effective conversion of residual glycerin resulting from the production of biodiesel into formic acid with high selectivity and stability, in a continuous-flow reaction.
