La présente invention concerne un catalyseur multifonctionnel pour la conversion de CO2 en produits utiles, tels que le CO par l'intermédiaire de la réaction de conversion de gaz à l'eau inverse. Le catalyseur selon l'invention combine efficacement une fonctionnalité de sorption d'eau avec au moins une fonctionnalité catalytique en une seule particule, en ayant un sorbant d'eau solide imprégné d'au moins un métal apte à convertir du CO2 à partir d'un mélange gazeux comprenant du H2 et du CO2.
