HIGH GLOSS POLISHABLE COATINGS WITH MATT AND/OR STRUCTURED METALLIC EFFECT AND METHOD FOR THEIR PREPARATION

The present invention relates to a method for producing a multi-layer coating on a substrate comprising the steps of (i) forming a primer coat layer (P) on a substrate, (ii) forming a silver metal layer (S) onto the surface of the coating layer (P); and (iii) forming one or more clear top coat layers (T) onto the surface of the silver metal layer (S), wherein the primer coat layer contains one or more particulate components selected from the group consisting of matting agents and structuring agents and wherein the silver metal layer (S) is formed by reductive deposition from an aqueous alkaline ammoniac solution containing a soluble silver salt, by use of a reducing agent. The present invention also relates to multi-layer coated substrates obtainable according to the above method. La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'un revêtement multicouche sur un substrat comprenant les étapes consistant (i) à former une couche de revêtement primaire (P) sur un substrat, (ii) à former une couche (S) d'argent métallique sur la surface de la couche de revêtement (P) ; et (iii) à former une ou plusieurs couches de finition transparentes (T) sur la surface de la couche (S) d'argent métallique, la couche de revêtement primaire contenant un ou plusieurs constituants particulaires choisis dans le groupe constitué par des agents de matité et des agents structurants, et la couche (S) d'argent métallique étant formée par dépôt réducteur à partir d'une solution aqueuse d'ammoniaque alcaline contenant un sel d'argent soluble, au moyen d'un agent réducteur. La présente invention concerne également des substrats revêtus multicouche obtenus selon le procédé mentionné ci-dessus.
