ENVIRONMENT ESTIMATION DEVICE

The present invention addresses the problem of more easily estimating the environment of a portable terminal. An environment estimation device 1 included in an environment estimation system 5 that includes a plurality of base stations 3 and a portable terminal 2 capable of wirelessly communicating with the base stations 3 by being located within a range in which wireless communication with the base stations 3 is possible, the environment estimation device 1 comprising: an information storage unit 11 that stores base station information, in which a within-range time during which the portable terminal 2 is located within the range in which wireless communication with the base stations 3 is possible and environment information indicating the environment of the base stations 3 are associated with each other; an information acquisition unit 10 that acquires position information including position data about the portable terminal 2 as acquired by positioning and a positioning time; and an estimation unit 13 that, on the basis of the positioning time included in the position information about the portable terminal 2 as acquired by the information acquisition unit 10, and on the basis of the base station information stored by the information storage unit 11, estimates the environment of the portable terminal 2 at a position indicated by the position data included in the position information. The environment may include being present indoors and/or being present outdoors.
