La bobine endovasculaire comprend : une première boucle ; une seconde boucle ; et une région d'inflexion dans laquelle une partie de la première boucle passe dans une partie de la seconde boucle. La seconde boucle est mise en rotation autour d'un axe parallèle à l'axe longitudinal de la première boucle pour créer la forme de la figure 8 torsadée. La torsion ajoute davantage de caractère aléatoire et de variabilité au comportement de remplissage de la bobine endovasculaire. Le caractère aléatoire et la variabilité ajoutés permettent à la bobine de la figure 8 torsadée de mieux remplir le vide d'anévrismes de forme irrégulière que d'autres bobines emboliques classiques. |
