Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne des procédés de production d'une forme cristalline d'un sel d'acide mévalonique (également désigné par X-MVA) à partir d'une solution aqueuse, consistant à soumettre la solution aqueuse comprenant ledit X-MVA à une étape de purification pour produire une solution purifiée et à cristalliser ledit X-MVA issu de ladite solution purifiée par cristallisation par solvant à l'eau.
