La présente invention a pour objet principal de fournir un film de polyimide ayant une bonne uniformité d'épaisseur de film et un bel aspect, tout en présentant une bonne résistance à la flexion. A polyimide film containing a polyimide which contains from 10% by mole to 100% by mole (inclusive) of a constituent unit represented by general formula (1) and (100 - x)% by mole (wherein x represents the molar percentage of the constituent unit represented by general formula (1)) of a constituent unit represented by general formula (2), said polyimide having a weight average molecular weight of from 100,000 to 270,000 in terms of polystyrene as determined by gel permeation chromatography. (In the formulae, the symbols are as defined in the description.) La présente invention a pour objet principal de fournir un film de polyimide ayant une bonne uniformité d'épaisseur de film et un bel aspect, tout en présentant une bonne résistance à la flexion. L'invention concerne donc un film de polyimide contenant un polyimide qui contient de 10 % en mole à 100 % en mole (inclus) d'une unité constitutive représentée par la formule générale (1) et (100 - x) % en mole (où x représente le pourcentage molaire de l'unité constitutive représentée par la formule générale (1)) d'une unité constitutive représentée par la formule générale (2), ledit polyimide ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en poids de 100 000 à 270 000 en termes de polystyrène tel que déterminé par chromatographie par perméation de gel.
