Chaque compartiment est configuré pour recevoir un récipient de réactif. Le boîtier comprend deux parties, couplées conjointement de façon pivotante au niveau de premières extrémités respectives de celles-ci, et configurées pour pivoter entre une configuration ouverte et une configuration fermée. Chaque partie du boîtier dans la configuration fermée est reçue à l'intérieur d'un canal correspondant d'une paire de canaux adjacents situés à l'intérieur de l'appareil de coloration lorsque la cassette est chargée à l'intérieur de celui-ci.
