La présente invention concerne : un fil d'électrode pour l'usinage par décharge électrique, ayant une couche de revêtement formée sur un fil central ; et son procédé de fabrication. Le fil d'électrode pour l'usinage par décharge électrique comprend un fil central et une couche de revêtement fixée de manière à avoir un motif sur tout ou une partie de la surface du fil central, la couche de revêtement pouvant être formée en effectuant un procédé d'impression à l'aide d'un métal fondu ou en poudre.
