Afin d'obtenir des fibres étirées formées d'un polypropylène, qui présentent d'excellentes résistance au fluage thermique, résistance à la rupture et rigidité, la présente invention concerne un procédé de production selon la présente invention étant caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend une étape dans laquelle des fibres pour étirage, lesdites fibres contenant un homopolypropylène qui satisfait aux exigences (1) à (3) décrites ci-dessous, sont étirées à un rapport d'étirage de 7 fois ou plus dans des conditions telles que la contrainte pendant l'étirage est de 80 MPa à 10 000 MPa (inclus). (1) La fraction mmmm est de 97 % ou plus. (2) La distribution de poids moléculaire (Mw/Mn) telle qu'obtenue par GPC est inférieure à 3,0.
