La présente invention concerne une membrane à base de graphène et un procédé pour sa production. La membrane à base de graphène comprend un composite graphène-polymère, le composite graphène-polymère étant constitué par un graphène à fonctionnalité amine et un polymère contenant un groupe anhydride en tant que lieur pour lier le graphène à fonctionnalité amine au polymère. La membrane à base de graphène est construite d'une seule couche. Le procédé de la présente invention comprend les étapes consistant à faire réagir un polymère contenant un anhydride avec un graphène à fonctionnalité amine en présence d'un solvant pour former un produit intermédiaire; et à imider thermiquement le produit intermédiaire pour former un composite de type polymère greffé par graphène pour une utilisation dans la fabrication d'une membrane à base de graphène.
