METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIOLOGICAL SOFT TISSUE MEASUREMENT

A biomedical method and device for measuring a channel within soft tissue is provided. The method includes the step of inserting a micro-wire having a measurement scale having clearly defined markings at predefined intervals through soft tissue into a channel within the soft tissue until one of the clearly defined markings is positioned at a first side of the channel and the micro-wire traverses the channel. The method also includes the step of determining the length of the channel from the measurement scale on the micro-wire. La présente invention concerne un procédé biomédical et un dispositif permettant de mesurer un canal à l'intérieur de tissus mous. Le procédé comprend l'étape consistant à insérer un micro-fil présentant une échelle de mesure comportant des repères clairement définis à des intervalles prédéfinis à travers les tissus mous dans un canal à l'intérieur des tissus mous jusqu'à ce que l'un des repères clairement définis soit positionné au niveau d'un premier côté du canal et que le micro-fil traverse le canal. Le procédé comprend également l'étape consistant à déterminer la longueur du canal à partir de l'échelle de mesure sur le micro-fil.
