DEVICE FOR PRODUCING LITHIUM SULFIDE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LITHIUM SULFIDE

In order to provide a production device and production method whereby high-purity lithium sulfide can be produced using lithium hydroxide as a starting material and not using a solvent, and without aggregation of lithium hydroxide particles or adhesion of products to a reaction container, there are provided: a device for producing lithium sulfide, the device provided with a reaction container for bringing lithium hydroxide powder and hydrogen sulfide gas into contact with each other, a stirring impeller inside the reaction container, a first heating device for maintaining the temperature of the portion of the inside wall of the reaction container that is in contact with the powder, and a second heating device for maintaining the temperature of the portion of the inside wall of the reaction container that is not in contact with the powder; and a method for producing lithium sulfide, the method comprising, in the absence of a solvent, charging the reaction container with at least 0.1 kg of lithium hydroxide per 1 liter (l) of the reaction container, configuring the flow rate of hydrogen sulfide so as to be no greater than 5 liters (l)/min per 1 kg of the lithium hydroxide, and reacting the lithium hydroxide and the hydrogen sulfide while stirring the lithium hydroxide so as not to allow retention thereof.
