Un serveur d'application présente une pluralité d'unités de traitement internes. Lorsque le serveur d'application est redémarré, il signale à un noeud de transfert de cesser de transférer un trafic aux unités de traitement interne. Lorsque tous les noeuds sont prêts, ou à l'expiration d'un intervalle de temps prédéterminé, le serveur d'application signale aux noeuds de transfert de reprendre le transfert de trafic vers les unités de traitement interne.
