L'invention concerne un procédé de criblage destiné à identifier un médicament potentiel, ledit procédé 5 comprenant les étapes suivantes consistant à : a) obtenir un vecteur d'expression qui comprend une séquence de gènes codant une ARNt synthétase non discriminante pathogène apparaissant de façon naturelle ; b) transformer des cellules de mammifère que l'on a isolées à l'aide du vecteur d'expression ; c) cultiver les cellules recombinantes résultant de (b) dans un milieu nutritif et dans des conditions qui permettent l'expression de l'ARNt synthétase pathogène 10, l'expression de l'ARNt synthétase pathogène ayant pout conséquence une mort cellulaire ou une baisse du rythme de la division cellulaire ; d) fournir une substance à tester ; et e) analyser la croissance cellulaire résultante. Selon l'invention, s'il y a augmentation de la croissance cellulaire, alors la substance inhibe sélectivement l'activité de l'ARNt synthétase pathogène et n'affecte pas 15 son orthologue cellulaire, ce qui implique que ladite substance est un médicament potentiel.
