L'invention concerne un catalyseur hétérogène à base de ruthénium qui contient du dioxyde de silicium comme matériau support, le rapport Q2/Q3 en pourcentage, déterminé par résonance magnétique nucléaire en phase solide du silicium 29, des structures Q2 et Q3 dans le dioxyde de silicium étant inférieur à 25. L'invention concerne également un procédé pour produire un éther diglycidylique de formule (I), dans laquelle R représente CH3 ou H, par hydrogénation du noyau de l'éther diglycidylique aromatique correspondant de formule (II) en utilisant le catalyseur hétérogène à base de ruthénium selon l'invention. L'invention concerne en outre des éthers diglycidyliques de formule (I) produits selon le procédé de l'invention.
