L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un substrat céramique en nid d'abeille à parois minces, consistant à extruder une matière de fournée céramique plastifiée à travers un tamis pourvu de fils filtrants en coin, destinés à retirer les particules étrangères et la matière de fournée agglomérée. Ces fils filtrants sont supportés par un ensemble de fils de support, fixés de façon sensiblement perpendiculaire aux fils filtrants. Ces fils de support peuvent aussi être avantageusement agencés en coin. Le tamis de la présente invention peut présenter à sa surface une couche résistante à l'usure, généralement une couche de borure ou de nitrure.
