La présente invention concerne un appareil fermé et des procédés au moyen desquels une charge de carbone de départ est constituée d'un mélange de fines de charbon non-cokéfiant (10) et d'une autre matière carbonée (12), telle que des fines de coke de rebut. Les fines de charbon et de coke sont mélangées (16) ensemble et peuvent être façonnées sous forme d'éléments solides (18).
