L'invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de réaliser des opérations de finition améliorée qui, selon une variante, portent sur un article métallique. Le procédé consiste en une érosion par cavitation visant à former des creux sur la surface externe de l'article métallique, lequel subit également une corrosion chimique visant à attaquer la surface métallique sur laquelle des creux ont été formés. On parvient à réaliser des micro-creux à répartition sensiblement homogène sur l'article, de manière à donner le fini mat souhaité, sachant que, par ailleurs, la surface ainsi traitée se prête au scellage.
