An operator manipulates a pointer in the image to a particular object in the image, the object representing a corresponding component of the processing system, and selects, by for example clicking a mouse button (54), the object to thereby display a menu of actions possible with respect to the component. Menu options can also include status inquiring enabling extraction of information about the selected object.
