The electrochromic polymer is a polymer of tetraarylbenzidine and (hetero)aromatic diol, which can be switched reversibly between redox states in a voltage-controlled manner. The condensation polymer is colorless in one redox state and colored in at least two redox states. The inventive modules achieve a large number of switching cycles without an appreciable decrease in the electrochromic properties, a high electrochromic contrast and a high electrochromic efficiency with effective switching kinetics.
