One of the grooves is connected to the vacuum source, and the other is connected to a positive pressure source. The end plate includes a threading groove attached to a vacuum source and located adjacent to a portion of rotation of the vacuum roller which precedes the location at which the sheet first contacts the vacuum roller. The threaded groove matches the shape of the path traveled by the open ends.
