Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a method and to apparatus for the production of cement clinker by the semi-wet process, in which a two-stage preheater supplied with additional fuel and a short rotary kiln are used and exhaust air from the cooler is delivered directly to the drying zone. In this way, even if the moisture content of the filter cake varies, it is possible to operate the kiln plant with a constant degree of deacidification and to ensure a stable kiln operation.
