description A high speed stepping motor includes a stator having a bore and a plurality of salient poles on which stator windings are wound. A commutator is mounted on a shaft of the rotor and has segments which are respectively connected to the rotor windings. Brushes are provided for making contact with the commutator segments to enable electric energy to be supplied to the rotor windings. Means are provided for changing the direction of energization of the stator windings to thereby change the direction of the magnetic field resulting therefrom and for changing the direction of energization of the rotor windings in synchronization therewith.
