description | 1,203,450. Drying non-porous articles. ELECTRO-QUIMICA DE FLIX S.A. 21 Dec., 1967 [27 Dec., 1966], No. 58145/67. Heading C5D. A composition for drying non-porous articles comprises trichloroethylene or perchloroethylene, from 0À1-1À5% by weight of a nonionic surface active agent or humectant and from 2-100 p.p.m. by weight of a pH stabilizing agent. The nonionic surface active agent may be an ethoxylated alkyl phenol, a fatty alcohol, a fat capable of undergoing ethoxylation or a surface active derivative of a fat, and is preferably the product of addition of 4-30 moles of ethylene oxide and 1 mol. of nonylphenol, 20-50 mols. of ethylene oxide and 1 mol. of tributylphenol, ethylene oxide and octylphenol, >10 mols. of ethylene oxide and 1 mol. of lauryl or miristyl alcohol, 18-42 mols. of ethylene oxide and 1 mol. of castor oil, ethylene oxide and oleic acid or a mixture of two or more of these. The pH stabilizing agent may be an aliphatic or aromatic amine and is preferably triethylamine, triethanolamine, di-isopropylamine, aniline, diphenylamine or naphthylamine. |
