description | 892,270. Electric selective signalling systems. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION, July 22, 1959 [July 24, 1958], No. 25098/59. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XIX] In a recoding device, particularly for use in avoiding errors due to " skew " when reading multi-channel magnetic tape, a combination of markings is applied in true and inverted for at terminals 1, 2, 4 and 1, 2 and 4, Fig. 1, to an array of eight magnetic cores, each core having been initially set in its " 1 " condition, and as a result all the cores except one are reset to their " 0 " condition, whereby upon application of a resetting " read out " pulse to all the cores only that core which corresponds to the particular combination of input markings is able to change its condition from " 1 " to " 0 " to produce a pulse on its output winding. The circuit has the feature that it still functions correctly even if the input markings do not arrive simultaneously. |
