A position search system includes a tag that transmits a signal containing identification information, a plurality of communication terminal devices that receive the signal that the tag transmits, and a server that collects information from a communication terminal device that receives the signal that the tag transmits, wherein the tag includes first processing circuitry configured to set a first signal as the signal that the tag transmits when the tag senses presence of a first communication terminal device that is paired with the tag among the communication terminal devices or when the tag is able to sense presence of a second communication terminal device with which the tag is able to communicate after pairing with the first communication terminal device is canceled or after the tag stops sensing presence of the first communication terminal device, and set a second signal.
