The object can be achieved by a production method of a composition containing nanocellulose, including: a step of stirring a mixture containing oxidized cellulose and a component constituting the composition other than the nanocellulose to fibrillate the oxidized cellulose into the nanocellulose, wherein the oxidized cellulose includes an oxide of a cellulose raw material by a hypochlorous acid or a salt thereof.
