Zusammenfassung:	A medium height detection method includes causing a plate-shaped member to be in contact with a predetermined position in a support portion, causing the support portion and the plate-shaped member to relatively move such that the plate-shaped member moves upward in a vertical direction until a detection signal indicates a non-contact state, then causing the support portion and the plate-shaped member to relatively move in a second direction, and performing control so as to cause the support portion and the plate-shaped member to relatively move such that the plate-shaped member moves upward until the detection signal indicates the non-contact state when the detection signal indicates a contact state, while causing the support portion and the plate-shaped member to relatively move until the plate-shaped member reaches a farther end portion from the predetermined position.
