Zusammenfassung:	Provided are techniques for receiving, from a client at a server, a request to access a software package for a specified duration of time, wherein the software package requires a license key; requesting the license key from a key server; transmitting a base virtual machine in conjunction with the software package and the license key to the client; hooting the base virtual machine on the client; and utilizing an encrypted disk containing the software package on the booted base virtual machine at the client for the duration of time.
