Zusammenfassung:A method for determining stratigraphic termination points from a seismic dataset, includes: deriving extremal surfaces from the seismic dataset, wherein the extremal surfaces include points that are each associated with at least one of a dip magnitude and a dip azimuth; selecting a subset of points on the extremal surfaces that meet a predetermined criterion; identifying, using a processor, a set of dip deflection points from the subset of points; defining a termination zone from the dip deflection points; defining extremal surfaces that are associated with the termination zone as associated surfaces; and determining the stratigraphic termination points based on the associated surfaces.
