Next, at least a portion of the audio data in the audio buffer is transmitted to the packet-based network through the FIFO during the line blanking interval separating the first video line from a second video line. Where video frames are separated by frame blanking intervals the method further includes transmitting through the FIFO any data remaining in the buffer after the preceding line blanking interval.
