METHOD FOR AUTOMATED CONTROL OF QUALITATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF SUBSTANCES IN MICRO-WAVE RANGE AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION

Method and device for automated control of qualitative characteristics of substances in micro-wave range relate to measuring engineering and can be used for control of quality of minerals, building materials, consumer goods, some strategic materials, etc. According to the method one measures in sequence in given range of alternating frequency set of frequency dependences of decay of electromagnetic waves at propagation of those in sequence through set of substances of one class or mark with different previously known quality characteristics with formation and storing data base of calibrated frequency dependences. After that one measures in same given frequency range and at same external conditions individual frequency dependence of decay of electromagnetic waves at passage of those through material under investigation with unknown qualitative characteristic. After that one compares individual frequency dependence of decay of material under investigation in given range to set of data base of calibrated frequency dependences of decay of substances with known qualitative characteristics in same range with determination of value of unknown qualitative characteristic of substance under investigation. Device has micro-wave generator of alternating frequency, development generator, first and second directed splitters, first and second high-frequency detectors, transmission antenna-sensor, measuring device for ratios, electron beam tube, analog-digital transformer and computer. There are included matched load and receiving antenna-sensor that is placed with gap with respect to transmission antenna-sensor for placement of material under investigation. The method and the device provide increase of accuracy and reliability of quality control of substances.
