COOLED ROLLER

The invention relates to the metallurgical construction and may be used, for example, in machine for continuous casting of billets, and in the equipment of rolling mills. Cooled roller contains cylindrical drum mounted inside the case coaxially with it, and cooling system with inlet and outlet. The drum is made with one bottom, which is turned toward the inlet of cooling system, to each edge of drum a flange with cut is fastened, and along its cylindrical surface unpaired number of ribs is located, but not less than three. One of these ribs of length, which is equal to the distance between flanges, is located at the interface of cuts of flanges. Other ribs have the length, which is smaller than the distance between said flanges, and fixed by their heights to the flanges, at that in each pair of adjacent ribs each rib is fastened to the opposite flange. The invention allows to reduce the cost of roller manufacture at simultaneous increase of efficiency of its cooling.
