Zusammenfassung:The method for treating the macrognathia of the lower jaw comprises the extraction of the premolars, the exposure of the body of jaw in the area of removed teeth provided by the intraoral access from the vestibular side followed by cutting the bone and displacing the fragments of the body of jaw under conditions of the graduated compression until the required shortening of the jaw is attained. Bilateral vertical osteotomy is performed. Then the cut frontal fragment of the body of jaw is further displaced until the close contact with the lateral fragments is attained.
