Novel in the process is that dead silver catalyst is used in the form of reduced dead silver catalyst on the carrier, at that fresh and reduced silver catalysts on carrier are used at a ratio of 1 : (3-8), and methanol oxidative dehydrogenation is performed at the temperature of 650-750 DEGREE C. The catalyst is used in the form of one or two layers of uniformly distributed mixture of fresh and reduced silver catalyst on the carrier. The catalyst is used in the form of two layers, one of them is fresh catalyst, and the second one is reduced silver catalyst on the carrier.
