Can manufacturing method and device

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a can manufacturing method involving air assist, with which it is possible to remove a punch smoothly from a processed can by appropriately performing the air assist. This can manufacturing method involves a drawing and/or drawing-ironing process using a press machine and is characterized by comprising a stripping step for removing a punch from a can after the drawing and/or drawing-ironing process, the stripping step involving blowing air out from an air blow-out port at the tip of the punch and performing air assist for assisting in the removal of the punch; in the air assist, the air pressure and/or the air blow-out timing is adjusted for each shot to an air pressure and/or air blow-out timing that accords with the condition for the shot.
