Zusammenfassung:	A machine tool (1) is characterized by being provided with: a front main spindle (10) provided with a front chuck (12); a rear main spindle (20) provided with a rear chuck (22); a control unit (50) which causes the rear chuck (22) to perform a fastening operation to fasten a workpiece (W), fastened to the front chuck (12), to the rear chuck (22); and a detecting unit (60) for detecting an abnormality accompanying the fastening operation of the rear chuck (22), on the basis of measured data relating to vibrations of at least one of the front chuck (12) and the rear chuck (22).
