DRINKS PREPARATION MACHINE The invention relates to a beverage-making machine (10) for making a beverage from a portion capsule, having a motorized brewing module (6) which has a first brewing module part (3) and a second brewing module part (4) which can be moved relative to the first brewing module part. A brewing chamber can be formed by the first and second brewing module part, said brewing chamber at least partly surrounding the portion capsule (10) which is in a brewing position during the brewing process. The brewing module is designed to brew a brewed beverage by introducing a brewing liquid into the portion capsule (10) and to discharge same out of the brewing module. The motorized brewing module further has an electric drive (22) for moving the second brewing module part (4) relative to the first brewing module part (3). The beverage-making machine (10) further has a housing with a capsule insertion opening (11) through which the portion capsule (10) can be inserted into the beverage-making machine (10). The beverage-making machine (10) is characterized by additionally having a closing unit (1) and a sensor (2). The closing unit (1) comprises a manually actuatable operating lever (14) that can be pivoted about a pivot axis (15) between a closed position, in which the operating lever (14) closes the capsule insertion opening (11), and an open position, in which the capsule insertion opening (11) is accessible. The sensor can be used to ascertain whether the operating lever has assumed the closed position. [Fig. 3]
