Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure relates to a method for controlling a powertrain 3 of a vehicle 1, the powertrain comprising a gearbox, as well as a control arrangement 100 therefore. The method comprises the steps of detecting a failure in air pressure in a storage tank 8 of an air supply system 7 of the vehicle 1. The air supply system 7 is configured to supply pressurized air to components 82A-82D of the gearbox 4 to effectuate gear changes. The method further comprises restricting the consumption of pressurized air from the storage tank 8 by the components 82A-82D of the gearbox 4 to thereby ensure a pre-determined number of gear changes enabling the vehicle 1 to travel to a safe place to stop.
