According to the method of determining the reflection coefficient in the optoelectronic modulator, which includes optical channels with the input and output of the optical modulated signal and the electric circuit, comprising a coplanar waveguide with an input and output of an electrical modulating signal and a matching element for modulating the optical signal by transmitting an electrical signal with an operating frequency of the input modulating voltage in synchronism with the modulated optical signal, consisting in measurement of parameters of optical signal during modulation and calculation of reflection coefficient based on obtained measurements, modulated optical signal is passed alternately in passing and opposite direction with respect to modulating signal, wherein measuring the modulated optical signal power change at the output of the optoelectronic modulator depending on the electric signal voltage change when the modulated optical signal is transmitted in the passing direction and modulating the power of the modulated optical signal at the input of the optoelectronic modulator depending on the change in voltage of the electrical signal when the modulated optical signal passes in the opposite direction, and the reflection coefficient is calculated by formula Γ(f)=(ΔP/ΔU)/(ΔP/ΔU).EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring the reflection coefficient in an electro-optical modulator by taking into account both reflections from the matching element and structural/process elements connecting the matching element and the coplanar waveguide of the modulator.1 cl, 7 dwg
