Americium-containing carrier sediment is also calcinated to oxides. Nitrate solution is obtained by dissolving oxides formed during calcination in nitric acid. Americium is extracted from nitrate solution with the help of solid extragent based on diisooctylmethylphosphonate, with further re-extraction.
