MACHINE FOR BUTT WELDING OF STRIPS

FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely machines for butt welding of strips, possibly used in aggregates for electric welding of tubes and shape bending aggregates for welding ends of coiled strips to endless band. ^ SUBSTANCE: machine for butt welding of strips includes H-like housing having in upper portion recesses for mounting mechanisms for drawing together, clamping and centering. Said mechanisms are mounted on two spring-loaded slides that may perform horizontal motion. Body of hydraulic cylinder is mounted in mean portion of housing. Stationary cutters are mounted in upper part of hydraulic cylinder body. Guides are mounted at lateral sides of hydraulic cylinder body. Movable cutter has connecting strip in its mean portion and two cutting edges with mutually opposite inclination angles. Movable cutter moves on guides of hydraulic cylinder body by means of tie rods and cross piece secured to rod of hydraulic cylinder. Body of shears is kinematically joined with mechanisms for drawing together through gages secured to its outer vertical sides and through rollers mounted on slides. Welding apparatus is mounted in mean part of machine over movable cutter. ^ EFFECT: lowered size, material consumption, enhanced accuracy of joining ends of welded strips, improved capability for repair works. ^ 3 cl, 5 dwg
