FIELD: electric drives; high-frequency ac drives using induction motors. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed drive has three-phase induction motor whose stator core slots accommodate two groups of half-windings, same slots accommodating half-windings of each phase of both groups; half-windings of one group are connected in series with power transistors operating in switch mode across diagonally opposite pair of terminals of full-wave rectifier bridges connected to phase voltage of power supply; half-windings of other group have turn number greater by √3 times than those of first group and are connected in series with power transistors operating in switch mode across diagonally opposite pair of terminals of half-wave rectifier bridges connected to line voltage of power supply in polarity reverse to connection of first group, connection angle of transistors being smaller than pi/2. ^ EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of electric drive. ^ 1 cl, 3 dwg
