Control of coal band in roof and floor is accomplished from car by the same operator with periodic taking of coal samples from roof and floor by car mechanism powered hydraulically from support hydraulic panels or from shearer. Control device of operator's car, car guides and car motor. Car and guides are located on complex framework before support face props. Guides are made in the form of two pipes with bottom recesses and circular chain inside pipes engageable with car lugs. Car internal space is airtight and enclosed in transparent dome with small window for operator's hand. Car has manipulator with hydraulically operated spoon for taking samples, fan with dust suppressor, gun for connection of hydraulic power source. Car motor has constant telescopic communication with shearer and its advance is not less than one advance step of support. Accommodated inside telescopic communication appliance are hydraulic line and electric wires for supply of manipulator and car fan. Invention provides for presence of man in zone of shearer and support and observance of sanitary norms and regulations with respect to dust content in ambient atmosphere and comfortable operating conditions for operator.
