Novelty is that unit is provided in addition with brake mechanism, towing mechanism has pulling lever engageable through number of mechanisms with hinged lever of cable laying mechanism. Housing of the latter has supporting and drive rollers the last of them being provided with reverse travel interlocking mechanism. EFFECT: high degree of automation without electronic devices, provision for laying cable of any thickness, reduced mass and size, improved safety, and facilitated servicing of unit. 9 cl, 21 dwg
