The invention relates to a self-centering chuck to be used in clamping thin-walled pieces with irregular profile when machined with machine-tools. According to the invention, the chuck consists of a body (1) on which there is a turning disc (2) with a channel as an Archimedean spiral actuated by means of a pinion (3), where upon rotation of the turning disc (2), the radial displacement of jaws (4) takes place, thereby engaging with the Archimedean channel, the jaws (4) having inside some enclosures (5) wherein a plastic (6) is introduced, as well as some plungers (7) that clamp a piece (8), the connection of the plungers (7) being enabled by the plastic mass (6). Invenţia se referă la o mandrină autocentrată utilizată la prinderea pieselor cu pereţi subţiri şi cu profil neregulat la prelucrarea pe maşini-unelte. Mandrina, conform invenţiei este formată dintr-un corp (1) pe care este dispus un disc (2) turnant, având un canal în spirală arhimedică acţionat prin intermediul unui pinion (3), la rotirea discului (2) turnant se produce deplasarea radială a unor fălci (4) care angrenează canalul arhimedic, în fălci (4) sunt practicate nişte incinte (5) în care este introdusă o masă (6) plastică şi nişte plunjere (7) care realizează prinderea unei piese (8), legătura între plunjere (7) fiind realizată prin intermediul unei mase (6) plastice.
