CATAPULT STARTING BLOCK FOR CROUCH START IN OVERSPEED REGIME

The invention relates to a catapult-like starting block for crouch start in overspeed regime, meant to be used for training and research purposes in high-performance sports. According to the invention, the starting block comprises a base plate (1) fixed on the ground, on which there is placed a mobile assembly (2) provided with some feet supports (3), said assembly (2) sliding on two fixed guides (4) by means of four sliding members (5), the mobile assembly (2) having fixed a cylindrical rod (6) which slides in a longitudinal guide (7) and on which a helical spring (8) freely slides, where the said spring can be compressed backwards by a triggering system which is mounted on the fixed base plate (1) and which consists of a shaft (9) provided at one end with a ratchet wheel (10) and with a lock pin (17) and at the other end with a cylinder (11) provided with a triggering lever (12), a triggering cable (14) being wound onto the shaft (9) and hooked to the mobile assembly (2) in a slot (15) provided with a safety flap (16), the mobile assembly (2) being locked in the triggered position by means of a locking flap (18) attached to the fixed base plate (1).
