Invenţia se referă la un senzor potenţiometric pentru măsurarea concentraţiei de argint din probe lichide, de provenienţă diferită, şi la un procedeu de realizare a acestuia. Senzorul conform invenţiei are un corp () prevăzut cu un capac () şi, la capătul opus capacului (), este un suport () conductiv, din cupru, care este lipit de corpul (), cu răşină epoxidică, iar pe una dintre feţele suportului () este lipit un fir () central al cablului de conexiune, şi pe cealaltă faţă a suportului () este formată o membrană () selectivă la Ag, din policlorură de vinil (PVC), plastifiată cu dietilhexilsebacat (DOS), în care este înglobată o compoziţie care conţine un ionofor, şi anume, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(3-hidroxifenil)porfirina, şi un aditiv lipofilic, tetrakis(4-clorofenil)borat de potasiu, raportul de masă PVC:porfirină:DOS:aditiv fiind de 33:2:66:1.
